Anja Van Herlen nació en Belgica en 1969 y actualmente reside en Los Ángeles. Estudió en el Belgium's Higher Institute for Art Education en 1987, donde obtuvo un Master de Bellas Artes en Pintura. En el año 2003 se translada a Los Ángeles donde se centra en las pinturas figurativas.
Anja se especializa en retratos a gran escala con bellas y expresivas mujeres que cobran vida a través de su pintura.
