Nick Gentry nació en Londres (1980) y su arte está influenciado por el desarrollo del consumismo, la tecnología, la identidad y la cibercultura con un enfoque distinto y un soporte obsoleto. Crea sus obras reutilizando diskettes para crear su arte. En sus retratos utiliza los diskettes como lienzo, a veces le hacen falta 300 por obra.
Empezó comprándolos por eBay pero luego encontró muchos donantes que querían deshacerse de ellos. En sus obras los ojos suelen coincidir con el centro metálico del reverso dando una expresión robótica a sus retratos. Le fascina la idea de que en cada uno de éstos diskettes pueda haber información personal encerrada para siempre. Un concepto bueno con un resultado sorprendente. Con su arte pone énfasis en el reciclaje y la reutilización de objetos personales. Sus obras se han presentado en galerías del Reino Unido, EE.UU y en ciudades de todo el mundo.
