Kumi Yamashita (1968) artista japonesa, formada en Estados Unidos. Una de sus técnica más conocidas es la creación de imágenes muy realistas a partir de la proyección de luz sobre las piezas (objetos comunes) fijadas a la pared. Los materiales utilizados son: papel, madera, aluminio, hilos, clavos y la luz...Desde 1993 ha realizado diversas exposiciones tanto colectivas como individuales. Su trabajo se ha exhibido en Seattle Art Museum, Boise Art Museum, Yerba Buena Center, San Francisco, Esplanade de Singapur, Hillside Gallery en Tokio y la Galería de Kent en NY, entre otros. Una visión diferente del mundo de las sombras...las cosas no siempre son lo que parecen...
